Annie Sloan Chalk Paint 101

Yesterday I did my first Annie Sloan Chalk Paint piece of furniture!!

Excited, definitely. After my class and coming home I sat and looked at my finished piece and it just got all my brain in marathon mode with ideas.

To put it mildly, I was planning on repainting all of my furniture.

The class was held at Echoes of Opal: Altered Vintage and Design Studio. Jamie is the lovely artist who I bought my adorable Hoosier from and invited me to join the class.

The class was taught by the wonderful  Barbara Muselli who is a certified and trained ASCP stockist who was amazing at sharing her knowledge and creative insight. Check out her site and class information at The Painted Attic.

Four of us were in the class. With Barbara and Jamie, we had lots of help and one-on-one for our technique.

I will find hardware eventually, it has to be just right.
My piece was a little dresser that I picked up for $4.99. It still had dust and cobwebs on the inside. It had a lot of charm and personality.

I didn't know what color when arriving, but ended up covering the piece in Aubusson and loved the outcome.

Jamie worked on a chic end table with gold accents.

Kristine also had a similar table that was so amazing to watch the transformation.

Mom and daughter team, Katie and Marla, both did matching  bedroom nightstands in the gorgeous Emperor's Silk. I just love that color!!

Overall I had the best time! It was such a great group of women who were easy to chat with, had tons of ideas.

I love hearing about how other people are creating and building projects for there own homes. So inspiring.

So a huge thank you to Jamie for inviting me and thank you to Barbara for getting me so excited to paint all of my furniture.

I can't wait to sign up for another Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Technique class.
