Teapot Hostess Gift Bags

Before I left for the Creative Tea Time Craft Party, I thought that I would be a polite guest and bring a little gift as a thank you for hosting.

And since it was a tea party I thought I would keep the theme for the gift.
I used this amazing teapot template from Apathtopaper. It is originally used to make an adorable paper card, but I thought I would take that cuteness and make it out of fabric.

Cutting a setting fabric square larger makes it easy to cut down to desired size after you complete the appliqué.

It was late at night so I opted to use my sewing machine to create the appliqué around the teapot.

*I'm not kidding, as I was finishing these projects my sewing machine seized up. So the next day I had to take it to the shop to be fixed.

I thought it would be adorable to create a tea bag tag that was able to dangle about. It was extra hand stitching but really turned out nicely.

You could glue this to a paper bag with handles or even add it to a canvas tote bag. A sewing machine isn't necessary because you can do most the stitching by hand.

Last but not least, the gift bag was filled with a vintage washcloth that I made from vintage fabric and terry cloth. Also included deliciously smelling soap from Naturally Wild Artisan Soap and Bath

Before I left the event, I gave each hostess my handmade gift. They were very appreciative and I really hope that they liked them.

Please comment or share if you make your own version, I'd love to hear from you.
