Thursday's Treasures #7: Nautical Edition, Anchor Yourself to Something Special

It would seem that anchors are really trendy right now and I must be totally feeling it because our living room is getting more "Patriotic Nautical" over time.

Two of my latest scores have been sailor themed. This amazing Bulldog Bunting($6.00, from a thrift store) and a gorgeous table scarf from JustSmashingDarling.

I was able to put everything together to have one cohesive spot in my living room.

Still working on the couch pillows but being creative is a process

Over time I have collected an assortment of nautical/sailing items from thrift stores and flea markets. Mr.KofColors has really fallen in love with sailing and it isn't just sailing for leisure-he is on a sailing race team.  Most of his summer has been out on the water, which he absolutely loves. I love that he is happy however my legs are better left on land than at sea. (*seasick sweetheart)

Most of these awesome Naval, Sailing Techniques and children books have come from the Pasadena Flea Market. The sailboat bookends were a steal and added a little sparkle to the table ($3.00 set, thrift store).

Mr. KofColors really did enjoy the knot card and book that I scored for him, he is a stickler when it comes to any type of knot and how to tie it. You should see all the rope we have in our garage.

These nautical prints and frames came from a thrift store, ($3.99). At first I thought the prints would look great in the living room, but afterwards they looked dated.

After painting the frames with Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan in Emperor's Silk and Napoleonic Blue with clear and dark wax, I then purchased new mats from Michaels so that I could display some of the photos that I had.

Model sailboat, vintage Washington State drink coasters were all from the local flea market. The oar came all the way from Farm Chicks Show in Spokane, Washington.

My little red buffet/dresser, you may remember it from my previous post. You can find it HERE. This piece of furniture really gets moved around my house.

I hope this post has gotten you in a nautical mood. Any questions, please message me.
