What's Cookin Chicago? Chili & Cheese Macaroni |
Pinned! Just the word makes me think of some of the last few things I added to my Pinterest Pin Boards. It is so addicting you could spend hours "pinning" projects, photos, recipes, quotes, etc.
With all of this great information I have compiled together, My New Year's resolution is that I blog about ONE PIN that I accomplish for the week. I am one week behind already (*super sick last week) but this sounds like a great goal for 2012.
My Pinterest Stats for Week 1: 20 boards/843 pins/52 likes
Pinned #1: Chili Cheese and Macaroni Recipe from Joelen at "What's Cookin Chicago?" is a pin that I added to my "All About Lance" pinboard because this sounded like something that he would like. You can find the recipe here:
Ingredients. |
Some of the ingredients I did change was that I used Olive Oil rather than vegetable oil and added Cheddar Cheese with the Colby Jack.
Saving time, while the noodles were cooking I prepped everything for the following steps.
Added the garlic, red pepper, chili powder, and cumin to cook. |
Letting the sauce simmer for 20 minutes. |
What is great is that you use one pot the entire time, your not stuck doing a ton of dishes afterwards.
Added the cooked pasta and ground beef. |
Baking in the oven. |
So you can see the result of the dish coming straight out of the oven. I paired it with some Oven baked Pork Chops.
My husband LOVED this recipe and went back for seconds and thirds. Going into dinner rotation.
Would love to know if you have made this and if you did a different variation.
