DIY Christmas Hoop Advent Calendar

Isn't it crazy that we only have 5 weeks till Christmas? Time goes so quickly. Yes, I am one of those obnoxious people who start listening to Christmas music in October, put my decorations up early November and keep the Christmas party going until mid January. *Mostly because it takes that long to  take everything down.

This year I am ahead of everything, completed this fast and easy advent calendar early so that YOU can have yours ready in time too!

I bought my advent calendar kit earlier this year from Jessica at EarthCookieCreations, find it HERE to purchase your own.

The fabric was remnants I had in my stash, you could really use different color combinations and prints or even use more trimmings. My version is pretty simple.

My biggest tip was using Washi tape to hold the baker's twine in place so that I could use a zig-zag stitch to anchor the twine in the center. (The photo only shows 3 strings, I had to go back and add the 4th)

You could also hand stitch the center, but it really helps hold up the tags when they are hung.

After you finish putting together your hoop, you can then write your Advent activities on the back of each card, if you so choose, or keep it just a simple count down.

Here are some of my favorite activities:

If you are in need of some more activities or you want to make this even easier

you can use this sweet printable of Advent activities to glue to the back of each card from oneminuteblog.com. Find the post HERE

I hope this inspires you to create your own Hoop Advent Calendar. I'd love to see your version if you do, please let me know.

Happy Holidays!

~Amanda
