Yellow and Blue Toile Garden Stool

My mom has the most beautiful garden. If you haven't seen it yet, check out My Family Visit to Pasco. Since she has such a large and gorgeous garden I like to make her things to add some extra vintage charm. This little stool was a perfect find.
I scored the stool from a local flea market for $5.00. It has this really beautiful toile mosaic on the top and was very sturdy.

Although it was painted (unsure why you would choose black), I updated it using two Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Colors.

The first two coats is using the Cream. The strong cream base is what I wanted to show through the blue.

Then I painted one coat of Napoleonic Blue. After it dried I lightly distressed with a damp cloth and fine grit sand paper.

Since this garden stool will be outdoors I did not apply any wax.

I was very happy with final outcome.

To me it looks like French country.

So when you sit in the garden with a nice glass of wine and some fruit and cheese, you have a stool to put your feet up.

Looks good in my mom's garden. My dad made my mom this little sitting area, it's her zen area with a shaded pergola and chairs.

Any questions? Let me know.
