Reviewing the Biggest Moments of 2013

I can't believe that we are already heading into 2014. It seems like time is just flying by. So much has happened this last year but I really just wanted to review my biggest moments.

2013 started off with a bang when I ran my first marathon in Disney World. This was by far one of the biggest, most memorable moments of my life. Check out the original posts This Morning I Ran My First Marathon and Walt Disney World Marathon

The second biggest moment was my first trip to Europe. My husband and I have birthdays that are 354 days apart. To celebrate us turning 30 this year (even though he turned 31), we took a trip over the pond to Paris, France and parts of Italy.

Our trip began in Paris where we filled in lots of sights, museums, churches, food and wine. Including Versailles, the Louvre, Musee de Orange, Paris Opera House, Notre Dame de Paris, and did I mention the food?

One thing that I really wanted was really nice photos of us. It is difficult to have nice photos when there isn't anyone to take them so I researched and found a lovely photographer who took us around the city and gave us the most beautiful photos I have ever seen. Please check her out at www.rhiannejones.com. You can see more of the photos from our trip at her blog post, Vintage Attired Midnight in Paris Inspired Couples Shoot

Our one mishap during the trip was when we flew from Paris to Pisa, Italy. They lost our bags. So our first night in Italy we had nothing but a small overnight kit from the airline. We spent the next few days in Lucca, Italy. It is a medieval  walled in city that was quaint and charming. One of our favorites of the trip.

We took the train to Florence, Italy. We were able to see the David sculpture and these amazing churches. We climbed 463 stairs to the top so that we could get a panoramic view of Florence. It was a long climb but it was worth it.

Next train ride took us to Rome. We did a day trip from there to Naples and Pompeii. I remember studying about Pompeii in school so it was so awesome to see the ruins in real life.

Our hotel was very close to the Vatican, we toured and saw the amazing Sistine Chapel. Also the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Pantheon, and Bernini Fountains. We watched the movie "Angels and Demons" one evening and realized we had seen all those sites while we were there.

It was an amazing year, 2013. So many memorable moments that we will treasure for a lifetime. We can't wait for what is ahead in 2014.

Blessings to you in the coming year!
