Before and After: Vintage Thread and Bobbin Case

Found this awesome gem at a local flea market. This old wood thread holder/case was a score at $5.00!! 

Being a seamstress and loving everything old I just had to have it. So I cleaned it up, gave it some paint and made it to fit my retro motif in my sewing room. 

I sanded the outside and painted a base coat of mint green. Then using Annie Sloan Chalk paint of Old White and distressing around the corners and feet. 

Added a vintage pink glass handle to the top. Using Mod Podge I layered some pattern pieces. Then made copies of my grandmothers vintage patterns, using the Mod Podge again to adhere them. 

I am really happy with how it turned out. And it just looks adorable in my sewing room.
