Nautical Room Update

My living room needed an update, ASAP!
For the last year Mr. KofColors has learned how to sail and enjoys being out on the ocean. So what better inspiration than nautical, especially when we live so close to the beach.

I took this photo of the Tall Ships outside of Ventura Harbor, California
He loves to sail and be out on the ocean, I would rather be on land. But it is worth it to see him so excited and enjoying the open water and sea air.

So it was a work in progress but I finally made my sad wall into a Nautical Masterpiece.

The side table was replaced by the Peck & Hill dresser I had previously restored. Updated  most of the photos and even added a chalk board and wall sail boat.

The dog kennel was covered with a natural canvas, on top I store my pets extra blankets in a weathered wood crate and made a burlap bag for the extra toys.

The vintage globe, radio (*restored & works) and sailing boats were all local flea market finds.

Using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint on the chalk board frame (Aubusson Blue) and the piano bench (Old White) that is covered with an upholstery  fabric that has a nautical rope pattern.

Extra cute storage with the apple crate from Just Smashing Darling, is a creative way to hide treasures.

Overall, I am really excited with how it came together. Mr. Kof Colors really likes it too.
