Owl Child's Apron Tutorial

My friend Amber asked me for some advice about aprons for children. Apron's are my favorite thing to create so I thought it was about time to create my own.

Fresh Tomato Bruschetta

Ingredients:
6 Roma tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup minced fresh Basil
*you can use 1 Tbsp. of dried, it is just as good
3 Tbsp. olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
*Sometimes I cheat and use two tsp. of jar minced garlic
2 tsp. balsamic vinegar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
8 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced into small pieces
1 French bread baguette, cut into 1/2-in. slices
Butter
Garlic salt

Instructions:
Combine first eight ingredients in a small bowl.
Spread baguette slices with butter. *I then lightly sprinkle Garlic Salt on the slices. Top each with a cheese slice.
Place on un-greased baking sheets. Broil 3-5 minutes close to the heat source until the cheese is melted.
With a spoon, top each slice with 1 Tbsp. of tomato mixture.

This recipe was based off of Samantha Cass's recipe that was featured in Taste Of Home 2011. I added a few things and omitted others.

I made this as an appetizer for a meal and ended up just eating this for dinner instead. The first time making this I didn't have fresh basil and used dried instead, it was just as good.

If you have a different variation or use some different ingredients I would love to hear from you. This is something that will be made on a regular basis.

Created a second dress this week. Last week was the Anthro-Knock Off Grass Court Dress. This week I made my version of ModCloth's "Give Me More Dress" a pin that can be found on my new pinboard: Amanda's Dream Closet

Keeping a retro feel to the dress I used a pattern from Vintage Vogue V2902

OWL Always Love You Valentine's Day Gift

My best friend Amy started decorating for Valentine's Day days after the New Year. Why not? Valentine's decorations were on store shelves before Christmas. Anyways, she had these two adorable owls on her decorated table. I just loved them.

"Anything is good if it's made of chocolate." ~Jo Brand

Heat Stir together flour, baking soda and salt.

Add to creamed mixture. Beat on low speed until stiff dough forms.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls.

Roll in sugar. Place two inches apart on greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Top each cookie immediately with an unwrapped chocolate piece, pressing down firmly so that the cookie cracks around the edge. Remove from cookie sheets to cool.

So finishing these delicious cookies, it was so hard not to eat the entire rack. They were just the right amount of softness and crispy. Yum!

And then I was cleaning up and realized they had an even EASIER way of making these cookies and the recipe was on the Hershey Kiss bag! AAHH!!

Ah Hell! Well they were fun and probably more delicious because I made them the hard way. More LOVE went into them. But just incase you don't get a whole bag of kisses I added the bag version as well below.

This weeks pin is actually from my "Spring has Sprung" board, a dress from my favorite shop, Antropologie.
"Tink" inspiration.

Last weeks "Pin" was my Tinkerbell Sweatband for my Tinkerbell Half Marathon. So I planned on going to Disneyland after the race and wanted to dress "Tink" inspired and this dress was a great way to do that. With the help of this pin from my "All Things Amanda" board.
