DIY 10 Minute Teacup Bird Feeder

If you are like me, you may have piles of gorgeous glass ware that you couldn't live without but never have a time or place to use.

I just love some of these gorgeous teacups and rose colored plates, but really wanted to enjoy them all of the time. So getting crafty with my gorilla super glue, I have created these Teacup Bird feeders for my yard.

BEWARE! Birds will love you, even though this is a fast, easy and cheap project...the cost of bird food could get costly if you have (chunky) birds like I do. :-)

Best part about this, they are dishwasher safe. When the birds get a little messy or have "pooped" on your creation in excitement. You just put it in the dishwasher and it is clean again.

Please don't mind my messy house.

Supplies:
-teacups and saucers
-wine bottles or floral vases
-Gorilla super glue
-Wooden dowel, either 1/2' or smaller depending on the hole

Step One: Super glue the base of the wine bottle or floral vase to the bottom of the saucer or plate of your choosing. Let it dry. (Photo shown on the right)

In the photo below, you can see that I did a few all at once. Collecting various vases and wine bottles, each one is glued to the plate.

Step Two: This is where you can get creative, I had this cute dessert plate that I glued to a vase. Then I glued a second plate that matched to give it a layered look.
Step Three: Glue the teacup to the saucer.

Some of the cups I didn't center on the plate because I wanted all the decorative painting to show. (Shown in picture)

This does not effect the way it sits as a bird feeder and it can give the birds a little more leg room :-)

As you can see in the picture above, I have created a couple different ones all in a short amount of time.

Step Four: Last step, you used the wooden dowel to hold up your creation in your yard. Cut them at various lengths to give a dimensional look in your garden. ( Shown below)

The three of these look wonderful in the sunlight and the crystal sparkles.

The cobalt blue looks good with the red.
This one I used a large plate and a sugar bowl.
Two birds are in both cups.
This one is a little better, I had to be sneaky.

Thanks so much for the food!

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial. The birds just flock to my teacups, it is almost like have a tea party everyday.

My Big Trip Home to Idaho

The Farm Chicks Show in Spokane, Washington

After almost four weeks of being up north, I am home and finally got around to posting all  these photos on my blog. So, towards the end of my trip my mom and I spend the day walking around the Farm Chicks Antique Fair. My mom had not been to something quite like this but she sure enjoyed it. I took my cart with me and it worked great because mom pushed people out of the way (she said it was like Costco). There were a lot of cool ideas and met some vendors who are also on etsy.com.
These are some of the cute things we saw. We also waited in line so that we could meet the Farm Chick herself, Serena. We walked away with a boar oar, retro bread box, buttons, kitchen stuff and only ONE vintage tablecloth and NO SUITCASES. (I always want to get tablecloths and suitcases).

My mom's dog Sugar Pie just loved the Suitcase Pet Bed that I had made. She is looking comfy. Down below you can see the whole dog pack. From the left is Atticus, Sugar Pie, Audrey, Bucko and Mejia.

While scrapbooking, Mejia had to get in the picture.

Also had to bring my dogs to my mom's first grade classroom so that they could meet everyone. Mom also had to show off her GrandDogs around her school. They sure had fun.
